Getting a clean print starts long before your job reaches us. If you want to prepare a PDF for printing properly, a few simple checks will save you time, money and the frustration of a result that does not match what you saw on screen. At Online Printing Dublin we are fully online: you upload your files, choose your options, pay by card, and we print and deliver to your door anywhere in Dublin (Eircodes D01 to D24). Because there is no shop and no proofing back-and-forth, we print exactly what you supply, so the file you send really does matter.
Why the way you prepare a PDF for printing matters
We accept PDF files only, so the first step is to export your document straight to PDF rather than sending a Word file. Exporting to PDF locks your layout in place, so fonts, spacing and images stay exactly where you put them. When you do this, make sure your fonts are embedded in the PDF. Embedding prevents substituted typefaces and odd spacing when the file is opened on our system instead of yours.
Common mistakes to avoid
Most printing problems come from a handful of avoidable issues. Run through this checklist before you upload:
- Page size: we print on A4 only, so set your document to A4 from the start. Pages built at Letter, A3 or a custom size can scale or crop unexpectedly.
- Margins and binding edge: keep important text and images away from the edges. Leave a comfortable margin, and a slightly wider one on the side you plan to staple or file, so nothing gets trimmed too close.
- Image resolution: use good-quality images. Pictures that look fine on screen can appear soft or pixelated in print. Keep them sharp and, if your software offers it, flatten layers so the PDF renders predictably.
- Proofread carefully: we print precisely what is supplied, so check spelling, page order and any blank pages before sending. We cannot fix typos for you.
- File limits: each PDF must be under 20 MB, and you can include up to 30 files per order. If a file is too large, re-export with image compression set to a print-friendly level.
Choosing your options once your PDF is ready
When your file is ready, you can choose 80g or 100g A4 paper, full colour or black and white, single or double-sided, and the number of copies for each file. The exact total is shown before you pay, with no hidden fees, and you simply pick how it arrives: Budget weekend delivery from €1.95 or Standard 48-hour delivery for €9.95 across Dublin. There is a minimum printing order of €2.95 and a €1.95 management fee per order, and any uploaded files are deleted within 30 days. For exact prices you can see an instant quote on the site or check the full pricing table on our terms page, and you can read more about what we offer on our printing services in Dublin page.
Once you have followed these steps, your PDF is ready to go. Upload your file to get an instant quote and let us print and deliver it straight to your door.
